Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs hospitalised after horse riding accident

Former Walking Dead cast member Chandler Riggs has been sent to hospital after being thrown off his horse yesterday (November 21). The actor played Carl Grimes in the zombie drama for eight years before departing in 2018, and today his mum (actress Gina-Ann Riggs) announced the 20-year-old's injury on Instagram, before thanking her followers for all their supportive messages.

"The call every mom hopes she never gets..." she captioned an image of herself beside Chandler's hospital bed. "Thankfully, he's going to be ok and thankfully I'm here with him! He was thrown off of his horse yesterday afternoon. Thank GOODNESS he was wearing a helmet. He has a pretty bad concussion and is in a lot of pain but no broken bones! I took the first flight out to LA and got here at around 9:30 last night."

Gina-Ann's post continued: "Keep him in your prayers!! Oh, and I had missed his episode so I stayed off of social media until I finally watched it this morning. Thank you for all of the kind words!!! #chandlerriggs #amillionlittlethings #thewalkingdead #hesokay." Get well soon, Chandler!
