  A lawsuit has been filed against Garth Brooks, the country music star, by a woman identified as "Jane Roe." The woman claims she worked as a hairstylist and makeup artist for Brooks and accuses him of sexual assault and battery. According to the complaint, filed in a California state court on Thursday and obtained by multiple media outlets, the alleged sexual assault and battery incidents involving Garth Brooks took place in 2019. The woman claims she was raped by Brooks during a work trip. In a statement to CNN on Thursday, Brooks said he had been facing threats, lies, and extortion attempts, with people demanding large sums of money from him. Brooks said, "Any payment used to silence someone, no matter the amount, is hush money. That suggests I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – reprehensible acts that no human should ever do to another."   On Friday the 4 th of October, "Joker: Folie à Deux" introduced audiences to Lee Quinzel, Lady Gaga's interpretation of Harley Quinn, the Joker's love interest from the DC comics.   Gaga explained in a recent interview that she had to modify her typical approach to performing for the movie, which is both a musical and a dark love story between Joker, also known as Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), and her character.   "I had to completely set aside all the showmanship, bravado, and natural Gaga elements that I normally bring to the stage," said Stefani Germanotta, also known as Lady Gaga.   The 13-time Grammy-winning singer, who also won an Oscar for her original song "Shallow" from the 2018 film "A Star is Born," even abandoned her usual singing techniques for her latest role.

  The federal sex trafficking case against Sean "Diddy" Combs has been reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian.  Subramanian, a former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and a civil litigator at Susman Godfrey, was nominated by President Joe Biden in 2022 and took the bench in 2023. The reason for the reassignment is unclear.

  On Friday, October 4, 2024, a user with the handle @TheDamiForeign posted images of Nigerian indigenous rappers,  Olamide  and  Phyno  with an open-ended question thrown to the public.   The post asked, "Who is the top rapper, Phyno or Olamide?" and promptly ignited online debate. Some argued that both artists are relevant and outstanding in their own way, while others supported one or the other. However, the ' Do I'  crooner was displeased on seeing the post and wasted no time in expressing his disapproval. Responding to the post, he wrote, " Yo!!!   Dame Judi Dench has expressed her grief following the death of her close friend, Dame Maggie Smith.     During the Cheltenham Literature Festival, actor Brendan O'Hea asked Judi Dench about Dame Maggie Smith.   Popular Nigerian actor Saheed Balogun has experienced a profound loss with the passing of his daughter Zeenat. The actor announced the tragic news on Saturday through his verified Instagram account, posting a solemn image of a candle surrounded by flowers and accompanied by sorrowful emojis. His colleague, Ronke Oshodi Oke, later confirmed the devastating news on her Instagram account. Posting an image of a candle, she wrote, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you @saidibalogun during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.” As of the time of this report, the cause of Zeenat Balogun’s death remains unknown.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus took to her Instagram page to gush over her daughter Angelica as she graduated from high school yesterday June 25. American Singer Justin Bieber has filed a defamation lawsuit worth $20million against two women who went on social media to accuse him of sexual assault. In the $20million defamation lawsuit Bieber filed against the two Jane Does which Twitter handles are @ItsnotKadi and @danielleglvn, his lawyers are saying that the accusations against him are "factually impossible, and disproven both by indisputable documentary evidence and the individuals' own admissions." The lawsuit claims that the some "fraudulently schemed to seek attention and fame by maliciously posting despicable, blatantly false, fabricated, defamatory accusations that Justin Bieber engaged in sexual assault." The Governor of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife Edith Okowa have gone into self isolation due to one of their daughters who has recently tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. Governor Okowa disclosed this news on his Instagram page on Friday June 26. Other news agencies have also attested to the news. This is what the governor wrote on his Instagram page: "Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, on-line with the laid down procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days. We will continue to keep you all updated." The lawsuit by US President Donald Trump filed to stop the publication of tell-all book by John Bolton, who was Trump's third national security adviser has been rejected by the court. It was struck out by a federal judge. Botlon was national security adviser for President Trump between April 2018 and September 2019, when he resigned but Trump claims he fired Bolton. Tray Savage who was signed to Chief Keef's record label died on Friday June 19. He died at aged 26. His death has been confirmed by TMZ and Billboard. According TMZ who were the first to break the news, Tray (born Kentray Young) was shot as he was driving around South Side in California. It was when he was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Canter that he was pronounced dead by Doctors there. Due to his death his family, friends and record label crew have been thrown into mourning. Honourable Chijioke Ugwueze, a lawmaker representing the Isi-Uzo constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly has died. Itwas reported that he died aged 49, on Friday, June 19 after suffering from a heart failure. According family members, he was suffering from hypertension at the time. Some of members of his family stated that he woke up on Friday morning complaining he had Malaria symptoms. He was then immediately rushed to a private hospital in Enugu where he was later then transfered to Enugu State Teaching Hospital Parklane. It was at the Teaching Hospital he died was pronounced dead in evening. Until his death, late Ugwueze was holding the position as chairman of the House Committee on Transport. Football player DeAndre Yedlin says he I considering quitting the United States national team due to the racial discrimination in his home country. DeAndre, 26 plays in Newcastle United who is Native-American and a Jewish-Latvian heritage has spoken and condemned the discrimination and prejudice against black people in the US following the murder of George Floyd by Minnesota police officers.  Yedlin told Sky Sports "it's something l've thought a lot about during this quarantine. The lady Seyitan Babatayo, who accused popular Nigerian singer D'banj aka kokomaster of raping her has been forced by D'banj people to delete her tweet detailing her encounter with the singer in 2018, her says in an interview they had with Premium Times on Wednesday. Ms Seyitan Babatayo's lawyer, Olamide Omileye of Ojoge, Omileye and Partners, told the newspaper that their client Ms Babatayo deleted the accusing tweets under duress while she was in the police custody on Tuesday. According to her lawyer, Ms Babatayo was forced to post new tweets claiming that she wasn't arrested and that she just wants to move on from everything.
